Annual Report and Proxy
Cadence Design Systems, Inc. provided proxy materials for its 2008
Annual Meeting of Stockholders on the Internet in accordance with
the new Notice and Access Rule adopted by the U.S. Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC) that allows companies to furnish their
proxy materials over the Internet.
Cadence believes this new process should expedite stockholders' receipt of proxy
materials, lower the costs of the annual meeting and help to conserve natural
resources.
Cadence's 2008 Annual Meeting of Stockholders
was held on May 7, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time at Cadence's principal
executive offices located at 2655 Seely Avenue, Building 5, San Jose,
California 95134.
Cadence reduced the number of printed hard copies of its 2007 annual report and
proxy by over 90% from the previous year, conserving natural resources: *
- 5,310,000 fewer printed pages or 27 tons less paper
- 637 fewer trees
- 300,618 kWh of energy saved
- 153,630 pounds of CO2 (equivalents) reduced
- 515,025 gallons of waste water avoided
- 61,506 pounds of solid waste diverted from landfills
