CDNLive! Silicon Valley 2006 Proof that analog and digital do mix
More than 500 analog and digital electronics designers gathered at CDNLive! Silicon Valley 2006 (San Jose, Sept. 12-15) to exchange ideas, explore new solutions, and expand their knowledge.
From the opening keynote by Cadence President and CEO Mike Fister "Accelerating the Art and Science of Innovation", the focus was on automating the mundane so designers can exercise creativity to solve the challenges of developing next-generation, more complex chips at ever-smaller process nodes. Jim Kahle, IBM Fellow and Director of Technology at the Center for Cell Technology delivered a keynote on the development of the processor for the Sony PlayStation 3. And Cadence CTO Ted Vucurevich spoke about the future of EDA.

In addition to learning about the roadmaps of Cadence platforms, the designers also attended technical presentations by fellow designers, checked out demonstrations of the latest Cadence technologies, visited booths of vendors in the EDA ecosystem, and voted for the best papers presented at the technical sessions.
During the conference, Cadence announced the reinvented Virtuoso® custom design platform, and introduced the Incisive® Design Team Xtreme® III system, a hardware-based accelerator/emulator. Positive worldwide press coverage of these announcements plus others made shortly before CDNLive!—including the Power Forward Initiative and the Encounter® Timing System—was extensive, as was the positive reaction from designers.
With all of this going on, shouldn't you plan on attending CDNLive! Silicon Valley next year? Check out what some attendees had to say on the Cadence User Community website.
CDNLive! is a worldwide series of user group conferences, which bring Cadence technology users and Cadence experts together. The next CDNLive! India will be held Oct. 12 in Bangalore, India. Others are available in your part of the world.
