William Porter

William Porter serves as a Cadence Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), reporting to Michael J. Fister, President and CEO. Porter oversees Finance, Treasury, Legal, Human Resources, Business Development and Corporate Marketing and Strategy.
Prior to his appointment as CAO, Porter served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Cadence. In that role, Porter led the company's global finance organization, including finance, operations, information technology, and real estate.
Before joining Cadence in 1994, Porter spent six years with Apple Computer where he held senior financial reporting and operations positions. From 1976 to 1988, Porter worked for Arthur Andersen & Company where his focus was software and mergers and acquisitions.
Porter received his master and bachelor degrees in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
