Ryoichi Kawashima serves as president of Cadence Design Systems, Japan, and is responsible for sales, technical support and marketing activities for Japan.
Before joining Cadence in July 2003, Kawashima served as president of Innotech Corp., a post he held since June 2001, when he also was appointed Innotech's chief operating officer.
Kawashima joined Innotech in 1987 and has served as a member of the board since 1991. Before joining Innotech, he worked for Tokyo Electron, a large manufacturer and distributor of semiconductor production equipments, IC testers and electronics components in Japan.
At Tokyo Electron, Kawashima was responsible for sales and support of Computer Vision's CAD products.
During his 28-year career at Tokyo Electron and Innotech, Kawashima has had extensive experience in the electronic design automation and semiconductor industries, and he has contributed to the significant growth of Cadence business through Innotech.
Kawashima graduated from the University of Electro-Communications in 1976 with a B.S. degree in Electro-Communications.
